Robert Pattinson's Edward 'Becomes A Man' In 'Breaking Dawn'

"Twilight" fans who've already read the best-selling books upon which the films are based have a sense of what to expect from the final two films when they hit theaters. Specifically, what emotional ups and downs will unfold onscreen, and which characters will be most impacted.

"Breaking Dawn" director Bill Condon recently revealed to MTV News what he predicts will be the most emotional moments in the final installments. He also opened up about how stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have tackled the acting challenges presented to their characters, Bella and Edward. (Spoilers ahead for those who haven't read the books.)

"There's this really quiet moment when Bella discovers that she's pregnant and Edward leaves the room having said, 'Carlisle will get that thing out of you,' " Condon recalled, "and she realizes, 'Oh my god, I've got trouble ahead.'

"Edward, the person she's been longing for all this time is actually on the other side of this very basic issue about this baby that's growing inside of her, and she puts all that aside and she turns and she has a moment where she catches herself in this mirror. It's actually a scene, just Kristen alone, where she falls in love with the idea of being a mother and it's just simple, but I think it's very moving."

Condon went on to say that Pattinson's work in the film is equally moving, noting how much he has evolved as an actor. "[Edward] really becomes an adult [in this film]," Condon said. "In the beginning, he has this beautiful toast to [Bella] where he talks about, 'You're so lucky if you find that one person who can see you for who you are and still accept you and allow you to move beyond who you've been.' And that's what Rob does in this movie," the director added, "He sort of puts aside Edward's self-loathing and all that stuff and actually becomes a man.

"So at the end, when Bella's given birth and she's died and he's trying to bring her back, there is stuff in there where the camera just holds him for a long time where he's just doing everything he can think of to make her live and to beg her to live," Condon revealed. "It's just really powerful."

Ten things we learned about 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn'

By Andrew Cooper
Twilight always commands attention when it comes to Comic-Con, and this year is no different. Breaking Dawn, Part 1, the penultimate film in the series based on Stephenie Meyer's books, comes out in November starring Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, Robert Pattinson as her vampire beau Edward Cullen and Taylor Lautner as werewolf Jacob Black, the third part of this love triangle. Here are 10 interesting factoids we gleaned from assorted press opps and the fan-packed panel (beware a few spoilers ahead):

1. Stewart took Bella's emotional journey from her wedding to her pre-transformation honeymoon to the birthing of her child very personally. "I can't draw a line between myself and her," she says. "For everything I do, it's hard to take myself out of it. I've been building myself up to these moments since I was 17. These are emotional and cathartic moments. They're very rooted in a reality I can see myself in. Anyone who reads the book can imagine it. (But) I couldn't let the book punch me in the face every morning. I had to let the moments happen. It's very true to the book but there are some surprises that suprised me, too." Adds Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon: "There is no bigger fan of Twilight than Kristen."
2. During the filming of the honeymoon in Brazil, Stewart spotted an extra who looked just like Lautner. After seeing a picture of the guy, "I even thought it was me," he says. According to Stewart, "he looked like the Eclipse poster."
3. Condon started out in horror movies, and that's just what the second half of the first Breaking Dawn, Part 1 is. "The two movies are very different one from the other," he says. "The first one obviously has the strong romantic element with the wedding and the honeymoon, but then it gets very, very dark, and that's exciting." And Breaking Dawn, Part 2? "An epic. The second one's a Kurosawa movie."
4. Speaking of horror movies, the cast made the birthing scene of Bella and Edward's haf-vampire baby Renesmee sound like the chest-popping scene from Alien. "I thought it was so cool," Stewart says. "We really tried to go as hardcore as possible. We didn't want to do a normal birthing scene." When Taylor read the book for the first time, "the birth scene was a LOT to take in," he says. "I had no idea how it would look visually."
5. During the Comic-Con panel, a clip was shown featuring Jacob protecting Bella and the Cullen vampire clan from his wolf pack. Condon says they are scenes that don't appear in the book. One fan in the audience, however, commented, "Why would they show stuff that wasn't in the book?"
6. Another clip was shown from Bella and Edward's Brazilian honeymoon featuring an amusing sequence with Bella trying to ready herself for their first night as a married couple and Edward in the water without any clothes. During the Q&A session of the panel, a fan took note of his impressive back muscles. "I can speak for us all when I say, 'Nyum nyum nyum.' "
7. A pregnant fan asked Stewart about playing a pregnant woman. "I felt so strongly connected to this," she says. "She's like a little cat in a corner who really will scratch your eyes out to defend" her baby.
8. One of the male fans asked Pattinson how it was to be surrounded by so many attractive actresses during filming. "It's great being surrounded by hot girls all the time," he says. "It's why I became an actor." Taylor also chimed in: "There are worse jobs."
9. For the record, Lautner would like to be the next big action hero — and he'll get a chance to make his mark in that arena with the September thriller Abduction. "It's not all I want to do. What I like about acting the most is being challenged by so many things," he says. Lautner does lament not being able to use his martial-arts skills and athleticism in a lot of stunts and fight scenes. "I actually was jealous of my CGI wolf," he says, "although he is cute and fluffy."
10. The ending of the series is looming for the cast — especially since filming has wrapped. "Are we going to get together and have dinners every week? Probably not," cast member Nikki Reed says. "But it's been a great thing to create these kinds of friendships. Adds Ashley Greene: "I think it will be a sad thing when all of this comes to an end."

Taylor Lautner: New Twilight movie is different

The actor, who stars as werewolf Jacob Black in the popular movie series, says the final movie has come together “really well” and he can’t wait to show the finished product to the world.
Speaking at the annual Beverly Hills Foreign Press Association luncheon – where he was named as Hollywood’s hottest new talent by Mark Wahlberg – he praised Twilight director Bill Condon for his work.
“I’m super excited, it’s coming out soon and we’re all really proud of it, it came together really well and I can’t wait for everyone to see it,” he told American website ET Online.“Everyone is excited and they should be because Bill Condon did an incredible job with it. It's very different than the ones before and I think that's gonna be really cool to see."
Taylor also encountered his arguably biggest celebrity fan at the event.
Glee star Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry in the hit show, admitted she was overwhelmed about meeting the heartthrob.
"I was shaking," she told E! Online. "I was so nervous. I was just shaking and shaking."
Asking her crush to give her a hug as she took to the stage, the brunette beauty joked to the audience, "I promise to control myself."
And the actress didn’t stop there. When the pair posed for pictures together, Lea told Taylor that the photos were going to be their wedding photos, before trying to convince the American hunk to take part in Glee.
"He is going to think I'm crazy," she laughed. "I love that [Taylor appearing on Glee]. Let's make that happen."
Taylor was a good sport and certainly didn’t object to Lea’s affections.
Posing with the petite star, he only had positive things to say – but ruled out a Glee cameo because of his lacking vocal talent.
"I love her. I had never met her before. She is such a doll,” he said. "I definitely can't sing. That [a Glee cameo] would be a nightmare."

Ashley Greene Talks Breaking Dawn Bridesmaid

Ahead of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and the much talked about character wedding between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, actress Ashley Greene recently admitted that she loved her Breaking Dawn bridesmaid dress and found it more comfortable after a slight alteration.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Twilight Saga actress Ashley Greene recently opened up about her bridesmaid dress for the Breaking Dawn wedding in a recent interview with In Style magazine. Greene mentioned that she was excited to show off the dress that was made all the more comfortable after cast members removed a built-in accessory. "There were corsets in them," said Greene, and we took them out by the end of the movie. We were just like, 'We don't care.
Ashley Greene also explained that she was involved in the creation of the dress worn by her character, Alice Cullen. "We wanted to have the bridesmaids fit together and also have their own identity," added Greene. "So, we took a little bit of Alice's past and put it into her dress."

At least, that is how Daiana Santia would like the world to see it. The 24-year-old economics student from Posadas on the Argentinian border with Paraguay staged a press conference in her home town to accuse Hollywood film company, Summit, of being a "greedy bully" for suing her in the US district court following a dispute over stolen images of the fourth film in the teen vampire series, Breaking Dawn. Santia said she had looked at the images while surfing the internet, but denied hacking into a private server – as contended by Summit – and redistributing them to others.

"You enter by navigating, entering by different links," she said. "I closed everything and that was it. I couldn't do it again even if I wanted to. I only saw it, I didn't distribute it like they say."

This was swiftly dismissed by Summit, which said it had decided to take legal action as a last resort, after efforts to ensure she no longer had access to the offending files had proved fruitless. The studio said its target had already confessed to stealing the images, but had reneged on an agreement for officials to visit her to check her computer.

"First and most important this is NOT about greed or the studio wanting to bully a woman from a small town in Argentina," said Summit in a statement. "Rather, it is about stolen material that is private and sensitive which was obtained by illegally accessing private/secure servers as well as personal email accounts. Ms Santia's actions came to light after these materials began appearing on the internet towards the end of March 2011."
The final instalment in the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn is split into two parts. The first is due to debut in November, with the second following a year later.
